The GPPC typically comprises two representatives from each of the six global member networks. These individuals are selected by their respective Global CEOs and possess significant public policy and/or technical accounting and auditing backgrounds. Additionally, the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) joins the GPPC as an observer.
The GPPC is chaired by a representative from one member network on a rotating basis for a term of two years. The selection of the Chair is subject to approval by all member network CEOs.
Daphna Smuckler is BDO’s Global Head of Assurance and Accounting and a member of the Global Leadership Team.
Daphna currently serves as the Global Public Policy Committee Chair.
Daphna was previously the Leader of BDO’s A&A practice within BDO in Canada and a member of BDO’s Executive Leadership Team. In this role Daphna was responsible for providing leadership and direction to BDO’s A&A practice driving the Canadian firm’s strategic initiatives and she has also served as Chair of BDO Canada’s Board. As a BDO Audit Partner, Daphna has served private and public entities – ranging from early-stage development to multi-national corporations.
